Source: Explosions on St Petersburg metro stations kill 10 people

MOSCOW, Apr 3 (PRIME) – Ten people were killed by explosions that ripped through two stations of the St. Petersburg metro, Sennaya Ploshchad and Tekhnologicheskiy Institut, a source in the emergency services told PRIME on Monday.

“Preliminarily, there were two explosions on stations Sennaya Ploshchad and Tekhnologicheskiy Institut,” the source said.

The source added that the information about victims is unclear so far. “Preliminary information: 10 people dead, the figure is to be clarified.”

The prosecutors have already started investigation, a spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office said.

President Vladimir Putin is in St. Petersburg, he is aware of the accident, officials said.
